Brief History

St Mark’s High School is an Anglican Mission School in Chegutu District-Mashonaland West Province. It was established in 1982. It started as a day school and later upgraded to a boarding school in 2005 with an enrolment of 250 pupils. The current enrolment is 879 pupils, 765 are boarders, staff establishment of 43 teachers and 26 ancillary staff.

Curriculum:
St Marks High School follows a curriculum that adheres to national educational standards while incorporating additional subjects and activities that reflect the school's values and mission. This typically includes a comprehensive academic curriculum covering subjects such as mathematics, science, languages (e.g., English, local languages), social studies, arts, and physical education.

Extracurricular Activities:
In addition to core academic subjects, St Marks emphasize on extracurricular activities enhances students' overall development. These activities may include clubs, societies, and programs related to sports, arts, music, drama, debate, public speaking, community service, and leadership development. These activities provide students with opportunities to explore their interests, develop talents, and foster teamwork and leadership skills.

Spiritual Education:
Besides the academic aspect, the school is a haven of spiritual growth to both learners and staff. Two Eucharist services are held every Sunday, the first one is for students and staff only and a second one for the community, students and staff. A midweek service is held for students and staff. Saturday guilds activities include St Agnes for girls, St Peter’s for boys, Servers and Choir.In 2024, 79 students were baptised and 74 were confirmed. Currently, a total of 95 students have registered for baptism and confirmation classes

Pass Rate Statistics:
The school has had good results but overally improving each year with a higher pass rate campared to the previous.
O'level results for the past 5 years are as follows:
2024 - 78%; 2023 - 79%; 2022 - 70%; 2021 - 57%; 2020 - 61%.
For the A'Level results:
2024 - 100%; 2023 - 92%; 2022 - 92%; 2021 - 98.6%; 2020 - 98%.
This shows that the school has been doing exceptionally well and raisng the Anglican flag up high.
